Mr. Nathan Rowe, Capacity Development Officer, Down Syndrome International and Mr. Robin Gibson, Training Consultant, Down Syndrome International were in Dhaka to promote Self Advocacy program for person with Down syndrome in Bangladesh. Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh and the Department of Communication Disorders, DU has been playing the key role to support the program jointly and achieve the program objectives accordingly. Taking this opportunity, a 4-day Facilitator Training Program was organized from 16th to 19th June, 2019 at Hotel Marino, Banani, Dhaka. Today the opening session was inaugurated by Mr. Md Mashiur Rahman ndc, Managing Director, Neuro- Developmental Disability Protection Trust, Ministry of Social Welfare as Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Sarder A. Nayeem, Chairman, Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital has graced the occasion as Special Guest and Prof. Hakim Arif, Chairman, Department of Communication Disorders, University of Dhaka has chaired the session. About twelve (12) organizations who have been contributing to the Down syndrome Movement have participated in the program.
