‘What I bring to my community’
This is the 4th time Bangladesh joined with the Global Video Event of Down Syndrome International... Story of Nuruzzaman Just a couple of years ago he was known to everybody as ‘Nura Pagla’ means ‘Mad Nura’. Proper inclusion change his life… Now he is employed as Office Assistant at AMDA Bangladesh nearby his village. Cleaning, watering in the garden, supporting staffs and serving coffee make his position important in the office. Nuruzzaman becomes self-reliant and independent. Story of Otonu He was known as an intellectual disabled. A little care and changing the views on person with Down syndrome in the community, person like Otonu is being accepted!! He is now working at the Resource Centre of Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh for last two years. An amazing supporting hands in cleaning, receiving the students and serving teachers in the class room make him valuable. Otonu becomes a confident and resourceful person. Story of Rafan He is 9 yrs old going to a regular school…Now he is in Standard One. Inclusive education promoting him to be accepted by his peers, has friends and leads “regular” live. He is aiming to be a Dancer and raising voice ‘We are more alike than different’.
